Flightseeing Tour from Skagway

As the last adventure on Diana's month of June, we took a glacier viewing tour flight out of Skagway Alaska. Diana's fear of flying was greatly relieved when she meet our fearless pilot of 35 years experience.

Our fearless pilot Paul Swanstrom and his Bush Hawk XP.

Giving Diana courage!

But she is too excited to be afraid.

Leaving Skagway, a tiny plane in a vast mountain area.

A hanging glacier and waterfall.

Up close.

Closer!

The crevasses below.

Higher and higher we go.....

...until you are in the ice field,

where only the tops of the mountains break through.

Some of these glaciers are 110 kms long!

The bottom valley.

A closer look.

Really close!

Returning to Skagway.

This excellent tour covered the Lynn Canal taking off from Skagway, but this service is available in Haines Alaska as well as other points. I highly recommend Mountain Flying Services and their pilots for this outstanding view of Skagway, Haines and surrounding glaciers. Check them out at their website!
