Hello Everyone,

If I hadn't racked enough highway miles up last weekend, this week I made sure the odometer was spinning again. To make up for missing last weekend's run up the Dempster Highway, I took Jessica all the way up to the Arctic Circle for a look at the Tundra.

Arctic tundra usually refers to this permanently frozen soil, which prevents the growth of trees. The surface is covered mainly by moss, heath and lichen. Perfect caribou food.  While we didn't see any of the 10,000 caribou of the porcupine herd (they migrate further North), but we saw plenty of Arctic Ptarmigans running along the road.

After walking around the tundra, we turned around and headed back south to Dawson city.

Since Dawson was covered just recently on the Feb 19th update, I won't include any pictures here.

While in Dawson we took in parts of the Short Fim Festival that was going on during the long weekend. 

The weekend was exhausting, lots of miles, so we headed back to Tagish to spend the last day of the weekend.

The gravel on the Dempster highway is very sharp.

The last time I did the Dempster Highway, during the summer, I received three flat tires. This time I was lucky (?), I only had two tires destroyed.
