Hello Everyone,

For Junko's last weekend up here, we planned a trip to Haines Junction to see Kluane National Park and a little bit of the Chilkat Pass. A quick run further up the Alaska Highway to Destruction Bay, and then the reverse direction to Skagway Alaska on Sunday.

Departing Whitehorse Friday night after work, we cooked supper over the stove along the Chilkat Pass and set up the tent for the night.

Lots of good scenery along the Chikat Pass on Saturday!

South end of Kluane National Park.

Haines Junction.

Destruction Bay

Kluane Lake is still frozen over.

Silver City, an abandoned ghost town now containing a few log buildings.

Now we turned around to head back through Whitehorse and on to Skagway Alaska. Our trip would take us very close to Tagish, and I was Pancake Breakfast day on Sunday, so I joked about not breaking the roadtrip by spending the night at home and camping out at the community hall. And that is what we did!

Not to be conspicuous,  we camped in the car again at the far end of the parking lot until morning. Shhhhhh, don't tell Lesli we stayed there :)

The theme for the breakfast was green for St. Patrick's Day and Junko enjoyed helping out.

Hitting the road again, we tackle another high mountain pass, the White Pass.

And we finally reached Skagway Alaska, the last roadtrip destination :(

The streets are deserted now, but come summer the cruise ships can dump up to 7000 people on to the streets.

One of Junko's amazing creations, what a great cook!

Junko's last day in Yukon, at least for now. She says she may return to challenge the Chilkoot Trail this summer. I surely hope so as it will be another awesome adventure in the North!!
